Charles Fowee: Monday and Tuesday looking good for flying

-
Joseph Buschelman: Glenn, I looked into doing that last year. Unfortunately we would have to pay for our tables and the spots. If the club is interested I can check into it again and see how much it is. If it's not a lot maybe we could get some of the other clubs and the hobby shops involved. Or if the cost is a little up there maybe we could use a little club funds and members put some money towards it. I like the idea of a contest if sort. Let me know. I'll be glad to help out.
- John S: Thanks,I dont have anything that big in the stable.
- Tom Para: 24cc = a 120 4 stroke. G38 is a 38cc and equals a Saito 180 4 stroke
- John S: Never messed w/gassers would that be about equal to a 1.20 nitro?
- Tom Para: Anyone looking for a G38 ? HURRY «link»
- Glennaaaaa: to develope a noon base
- Glennaaaaa: My other idea is the develope a noon base by 2020!
- Glennaaaaa: Tracey…I could envision a mall type show like what was done many years ago. All the clubs would bring their Winter projects to put on display. For a few years it was held at Northgate mall then later Tri county , East gate and one was done in Kentucky…All the local clubs participated. The malls liked it because it brought people to the mall but later they stopped financing the event…They paid for the tables and their budgets could not afford it..

-
eryder: looks like nice weather is on the way, mmmmmm, cant wait..
- Glennaaaaa: and you will be cranking your gasser over, and over and over, developing pop-eye muscles!
- Glennaaaaa: Ernie, get back to aviation........in a few weeks we will be flying again!
- eryder: «link»
- eryder: this guy frickin rocks!!!!!!Live Action!!!....«link»
- Tracey: Glenn I talked to John today about your idea, and we like it!! If we can get enough interest in it, then we will probably do it. Come in on Monday and lets talk more.
-
Larry Roth: I got four flights in today! Keith, John A. and Dan B. all came out!

-
Larry Roth: Headed to the field!

- Frankle951: Hey glenn your casino downtown, has is falling a part, 7 worker got hurt, must be cutting corner !!!!!
- Glennaaaaa: or a special class for modified arfs
- Dan: The contest would be great, one rule "NO ARF's"
- Glennaaaaa: Ernie, no doubt free shipping on the battery!
- eryder: picked up a new 4S 3300 Thunder Power from John and Tracey, a little mod-up from last years 2750mah..
- eryder: got the new "Squall" bout done, she's a crazy camo with "Luftwaffe JG 300" markings, stickers from my first Great Planes FW-190...what a great bird..
-
eryder: GC I think the models who would be judging would just love you and your "Big Six".....
- eryder: GC i wasnt interested, the 105 was a turd..
- Tracey: OH good!!! Thank you for clarifying that....lol
- Glennaaaaa: That about the only thing we could get Ernie to look at...
- Glennaaaaa: Tracey, you are mixed up,,,,,,the models we will be judging are model airplanes!!!! or car or boats!
- Tracey: Glen you are so right!!!! What a great idea, but I don't think I will be there that day...lol
- Glennaaaaa: Tracey can you imagine the crowd that will show up at the shop on the finals day.......judging to be done at the shop.
- Glennaaaaa: Ernie , Glennis models had a poor report........Stay away from them.....I think they only made gear now
- Tracey: OMG that is not what I had in mind Glen!! You are too much!!!
- Glennaaaaa: Can wait, Ernie and I will be the official judges at the first ever Hamilton Hobbies beauty contest.
- Tracey: And as far as dusting the inventory, well that isn't my job...lol
- Tracey: Ernie anything for you!!! I will put the request in for jaw breakers....lol
-
eryder: hey flappy, why aint you at the shop dusting the inventory? Oh and another thing, need to get rid of the "Mystery Center" candy, how bout sum jaw breakers?...
- Tracey: Glen that sounds like a wonderful idea. I think we should put you in charge of all of the details. Come see me on Monday with your plans.
- eryder: check this Glenny Glen...«link»
-
Larry Roth: A week ago I sent a Thunder Power charger in for repair. The charger is not under warranty. I asked for an estimate to replace the LCD display that is failing. Today I was notified that not only are they repairing it at no charge, they are also shipping it back to me at no charge. Go Thunder power! Outstanding customer service and support!

- John S: Lol,you sound like a man on a (turbine) mission. Good luck I hope you get it.
- Frankle951: Thanks, glenn, I don't care about the drive, I will smile alway home.
-
Tom Para: It said local pickup only
- Glennaaaaa: Frank, Not sure what to say…….the Shockjet usually sells for 499. I believe I paid around 299 because it was a package deal turbine and plane. If its ready to go and you could pick up a used turbine at a good price , you could get in the air without spending megabucks. Then if you were not happy flying turbines you could probably sell it quite easily…..to Newt….he asked me about selling the Shockjet once.
- Frankle951: Hot ford «link»
- Frankle951: «link»
- Frankle951: Sorry try again
- Glennaaaaa: It was the featured items page.
- Glennaaaaa: Frank , the link did not take me to a jet
- Frankle951: «link» glenn is this jet worth looking at ???
- Glennaaaaa: Tracey, here is an idea......with all the football bowl games now a days, how about the Hamilton Hobbies Bowl! It could be played loacally on New Years day!
- Frankle951: Friday looks good for flying, maybe I can get in some flights.
- Frankle951: Good time for me to get back to my project today !!!!
-
Mark Hall: Gonna need floats on your plane to fly.with all this rain.

-
Tom Para: just checked and i got it. tnx.. yea just about ready for bed..

-
Jerry: Hi Tom...Good to hear from you in the dead of the night

-
John Anthony: you get the list tom?

-
Tom Para: hi jerry

-
Tom Para: 2 esc's off one battery is ok.. 2 motors off one esc is the problem.. Hi

-
Jerry: Geeez....Who let that New York guy in here?

-
Al Torres: Not sure you can run two ESC's off one battery. Check into that before you actually do it. Other than raise a red-flag, I can't recall the details but I do recall reading that somewhere.

-
Larry Roth: Paul I am home you can call me. Number in the memberlist. Joe, thats a great video, I love that plane!

- Scott Klein: Joe, I thought that was you SMALL WORLD
-
Paul O'Neal: I didn't think about radio shack...can give that a try.

-
Paul O'Neal: I'm wiring a y connector to drive two 1100kv motors from one 5000mah battery, for the Super Sportwin. The batteries have 10 AWG 200 degree wire. That is what I was looking for. I only need a couple inches for each plane (two planes). I know John can order some, but I missed this weeks order window....

-
Joseph Buschelman: Still hanging in there Frank. Can't wait to get out to the field buddy.
- geJoe: Scott, in 1974 I lived on LaGrange, then Appletree until 1992, when I went to Wisconsin. I returned to Monfort Heights in 2004. So to answer your question, yes, I lived in White Oak. Joe Steltenpohl – aka geJoe
- Scott Klein: Joseph, Did you live in White Oak at one time?
- Frankle951: Dam that joseph is still a live !!!!!!!
-
Joseph Buschelman: Nice looking plane Steltenpohl
-
Joseph Steltenpohl: Some of you have seen my 1909 Military Wright Flyer. Here is a video of it: «link»

-
Joseph Steltenpohl: THHN stands for "Thermoplastic High Heat Resistant Nylon Coated" THWN= 75 degree insulation, THHN= 90 degree insulation.

- eryder: TP, I think you can get that 10ga fine from "The Shack" a whole lot cheaper..
- Tom Para: Here is the type wire I use on all my stuff. Excellent quality... «link»
- Tom Para: what THHN/THN stands for.. I think its the spec on the insulation.. Not sure what your wiring up but you dont want to use course stranded wire on todays lipos..
- Tom Para: Reset the timer again...
-
Mark Hall: Hey it says we have 581 guests & 7 members online ( what is that ? )

- Frankle951: Today really look good for flying, but I had to work, tomorrow looks good to, I will be working, have fun for me !!!!!!
-
Paul O'Neal: Doug, thanks for the offer, but I need 10 gauge. Looks like Larry has some.

-
Doug Rose: paul i have 14 guage wire if you want some

-
Paul O'Neal: Hey Larry... thanks a bunch. I'm not sure what THHN/THN stands for... Just so long as it is suitable for 5000mah battery connection. You can call me at 675-4989 when you get a chance. Thanks again, Paul

- Glennaaaaa: Even Futuba ,,,TP!
- Glennaaaaa: Just saw this on another website......Caution flying any RC Plane today due to solar flare starting 9:00 am today.
- Dennis Boggs: 6 hard core pilots were flying this morning, and It was COLD!!!
-
Charles Fowee: Keith D....you going down to the field today.

-
Larry Roth: I have # 10 wire Paul. It is THHN or THN. I wouls be happy to donate a bit. I know I have red and may have black also.

-
Paul O'Neal: Hey...does anyone have a few inches of 10awg wire? I need to make a battery y connector to feed two ESCs for my current build.

-
eryder: probably Area 56...
- John Anthony: Bikini Islands....
- eryder: giant government kitchen somewheres...
- John Anthony: Ever wonder where that "shelf life 100 Years" Iradiated packaged food came from???
- eryder: i'd bet thats quicker than the deep fryers for turkeys...
- eryder: poor piggys...«link»
- Leroy: flying today was a blast! I came I saw I went to the house! ;-0
- Glennaaaaa: advantage
- Glennaaaaa: Took adavantage of the warm weather this morning and ran up my replaced Jet Central turbine....what a difference!
-
Larry Roth: I was there yesterday... I flew three times.

-
Charles Fowee: Hi Larry...you said you will be out tomorrow

-
Larry Roth: Tell 'em Charlie! Just fly!

-

No Neck Transmitter Strap

I really dislike neck straps so I never wear one even though I would like having the transmitter suspended in front of me. Since the cold weather is upon us a transmitter mitt would be nice too. Well you really need a strap for the mitt and I think the designer Brian King, has come up with the right idea. The price is fair, it is adjustable and can be worn over your coat. The sale price is $20 shipped until the end of the month. There are several sizes available. Medium, large and extra large (the strap in the video is a large). To order or more info email. Welcome to the Hawks Website.
The HAWKS Radio Control Club was formed in the fall of 1977 by a small group of dedicated model airplane enthusiasts. Bob Smorey was the club founder and its first elected president in 1978. The HAWKS have administered several flying sites within Joyce Park and currently run our new facility on Joe Nuxall Way that boasts a 550' by 30' paved runway and taxiways and a new helicopter only site has been built by the HAWKS at the old flying field across the street.
Come on out and fly!
